Model for the formation of zoned glendonites in the Lower Cretaceous sediments of Svalbard, as proposed by Vickers et al. (2018). Here, oscillations in conditions resulting in the slow, progressive breakdown of the parent ikaite (calcium carbonate hexahydrate) to glendonite calcite, from the outside in.
